How Good Was The Lecturer? 1/5 – Unlucky…
Semester Taken: Semester 1, 2014

In This Course:

– The textbook is actually necessary.
– Assignments/exams are marked fairly.
– Staff will give good assignment/exam hints.
BUT:
– This course does not give ‘free’ or participation marks.
-This course HAS a final.
– The lecturer just reads off the slides.
– You can NOT do the whole course online.

Overall Comment:

Lecturer is horrible but he has taught the course for the last 6 or so years so you’re likely to have him. Very condescending towards students and yells at them during lectures. There is no point going to lectures. You may as well read the slides as he gives no additional insight rather he just confuses you more.  Assignments are fairly easy and can get most of the 44% (eleven x 4% assignments) with tutor hints.
Final exam this year was made rather difficult compared to other years in my opinion but still easily able to get a 5 or 6 overall with some preparation. Would not recommend taking this course unless compulsory for your major.
