How Good Was The Lecturer? 2/5 – Not great
Semester Taken: Semester 1, 2014

In This Course:
-This course HAS NOT got a final.
– This course gives ‘free’ or participation marks.
– Assignments/exams are marked fairly.
– Staff will give good assignment/exam hints.
– The textbook is NOT actually necessary.
BUT:
– You can NOT do the whole course online.
– The lecturer just read off the slides.

Overall Comment:

Good – Good modern look at technology for teaching students, encouraged ideas.

Bad – Can be a bit too open minded. The lectures were bland and overused technology to the point that they became token an unnoteworthy. The use of technology forced use to create presentations that were unwieldy in their scope and hard to talk about without really being all that entertaining or educating. The second assignment came as a snub to me as it was to write a blog, where we were forced to use a blogging system older than the hills – when I asked if we could use something like blogger, which is far, far, far, far more accessible than blackboard, they refused my request. Really added a sour note to a bland course that was meant to be more open than it actually was.
